Arcadia Health Care San Francisco Group of Offices was founded in 1993 by Charles E. Symes II. Charles has been in the field of home health for over 28 years. In the 1980's his entrepreneurial spirit lead him to aid his mentor, Barbara Hamrick, in establishing a local home health agency in San Francisco's East Bay, Nightingale Nursing. The basis for the agency was a desire to serve the community by providing compassionate care with a focus on customer service. It proved to be a successful venture and is still one of the East Bay's most admired agencies.
Eventually, and with the full support of his mentor Barbara and friends, Charles ventured out on his own to create a full service home care agency based on the principles he held dear and on which his reputation was built: a commitment to quality service, customized compassionate care and a respect for clients, health care professionals, caregivers and office staff. As an Affiliate Owner of Arcadia Home Care and Staffing, Charles has the support of a strong national organization with all the independence afforded a private owner. This relationship allowed Charles to take his vision of a compassionate, quality, full service home care agency to the next level. Over the last 18 years and with the help of his dedicated staff and exceptional reputation, Charles has grown Arcadia Home Care and Staffing organically and now provides services in 11 counties and has been honored to provide service for thousands of appreciative clients over the years.
Charles continues to remain deeply passionate about home health, home care, medical staffing, his clients, referral sources and staff.
As a respected leader in the field of home care, Charles has championed efforts to raise standards in home care and has worked to promote regulations and increase standards across the board. Over the years Charles has been active in the community and fought for requirements of full disclosure to consumers. Charles also dedicates time and resources to providing education and training to the community on health care issues. Charles currently serves as the President of the Northern California Chapter of the National Private Duty Association (NPDA).
